Who Should Take This Class?
Expectant mothers. New parents. Grandparents. Aunts. Uncles. This class is designed for individuals that take care of infants and children in the home who want to be prepared for a life threatening emergency.
What Will I Learn?
This course focuses on how to recognize the signs of a life threatening emergency and what to do in the first few minutes before professional help arrives. Specifically, this course covers CPR skills for infants & children as well as how to help an infant or child who is choking.
Is This a "Hands On" Class?
Absolutely! Both of our Training Sites are fully equipped with CPR training manikins and First Aid training equipment. For classes in your home our instructors bring everything needed to learn and practice the skills taught in class.
How Long is This Class?
We recommend budgeting between 60 and 90 minutes to take our Infant & Child Emergencies Class.
Will I Earn a CPR Certification?
You can! Our Infant & Child Emergencies Class is commonly taken by individuals who want to be prepared for an emergency in the home and do not require a CPR certification. For our students that do need or desire a CPR, AED, and/or First Aid certification our team can assist you before and during the class to meet the certification requirements of the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Certifications are available for team coaches, scout leaders, teachers, fitness professionals, and others!
Can Other Topics be Covered in This Class?
Yes! Our instructors are healthcare providers and public safety professionals that specialize in teaching life saving skills. Our class participants often have questions about safe sleep techniques, car seats, injury prevention, and other topics to keep their children safe at home. If your family has a specific need for additional medical information such as seizure disorders or anaphylaxis we can include family-specific information for your group.
Can Teens and Children Take this Class?
Of course! Teen and tweens are welcome to participate fully in your class. We can include age appropriate information and skills practice for any younger children in your family as well.
